In the UAE, a man survived a shark attack

A shark attacked a fisherman from the United Arab Emirates at sea, but he managed to escape.

Last Friday, in the morning, a large shark attacked a 41-year-old fisherman, Mohammed Hamad al-Belushi, in the sea in the Khor Fakkan region, UAE, while he was fishing with his friend Omar. Men were found approximately 9 km from the coast at the time of the incident.

Al-Belushi dived to a depth of 18 meters, after which he returned to his boat. He was about three meters from the ship when his right leg was caught between the powerful jaws of a shark.

Omar, who noticed the danger, shot a shark from a fishing weapon, which helped his friend free himself from the trap. The men managed to catch the shark and tie it to the boat to pull ashore.

Omar reported the incident to the police and the ambulance, as well as to the family of the fisherman who rushed to the harbor of Khor Fakkan, awaiting the return of the Al-Belushi boat.

The injured fisherman was immediately taken to the Khor Fakkan hospital, where an x-ray of the wounded leg was taken. Doctors diagnosed severe damage.

The victim’s brother confirmed that in this part of the country he had noticed several small sharks, but the individual that attacked Al-Belushi weighed 200 kg.
