The authorities of Abu Dhabi are going to link the attractions of the city by cable car

The transport authority of the capital of the United Arab Emirates is considering a cableway project to link major tourist attractions.

The Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport (DMAT) of Abu Dhabi is considering the creation of a cable car network in Al Maqtaa and Al Bahya Corniche.

The preliminary project is estimated at 650 million dirhams ($ 176.9 million). It aims to turn Al Bahya Corniche into a major entertainment venue for mainland residents.

The estimated cost of the Al Maqtaa ropeway network project is about 350 million dirhams ($ 95.2 million). The project connects tourist and key points in Al Maqtaa, providing the opportunity to move against the backdrop of scenic views.

The cableway network is expected to include five stations, starting from Al Maqtaa Creek, on a site next to Al Maqtaa Bridge. The second station is Khalifa Park, followed by Sheikh Zayed Mosque. A fourth stop is planned near Ritz Carlton. The route then turns onto Arabian Gulf Street, parallel to the Musaffah Bridge, and the final is Al Barri Souk.

The DMAT statement said that the goal of such projects is to increase the mobility of residents and guests of the emirate, as well as promoting Abu Dhabi as an international tourist center and one of the best places to stay, work and visit.
