More than 100 accidents occurred on the roads of the Emirate of Sharjah due to fog

The fog that covered the United Arab Emirates at the beginning of the week caused more than 100 accidents in the emirate of Sharjah

Last Saturday and Sunday, more than 100 traffic accidents were reported in the emirate of Sharjah, UAE due to poor visibility caused by fog, police said.

Lieutenant Yassem bin Hadda, head of the operations department in the emirate’s police, said the police received 1,256 emergency calls within two days. Five serious accidents and 99 privates occurred on the roads.

Bin Hadda said that in the conditions of fog on roads and highways, patrolling was intensified to ensure a quick response to all messages. He also urged motorists to move carefully due to unstable weather conditions.

Dense fog this week has led to dozens of accidents recorded across the country and delays at airports.

Visibility on land fell to less than 50 meters in selected areas. Dubai police received more than 1,520 reports of incidents in the emirate and recorded 54 accidents from 6:00 to 9:30 on Sunday.

According to the center of meteorology, fogs in the morning are likely to persist until the end of the week.
