Emirate of Sharjah's famous Ferris wheel moves to a new place

One of the most recognizable sights of the Emirate of Sharjah - the Ferris wheel - is moving to a new location this month.

The most recognizable landmark of the Emirate of Sharjah, the UAE, the 60-meter-long Ferris Wheel Eye of the Emirates moves to Al Montazah Parks. At the same place - in Al Qasba - the attraction stood for the last 13 years.

Moving the Ferris wheel will provide even more spectacular bird's-eye views for residents and visitors. The main attractions of the city and famous markets, such as Central Souq, Al Jubail Souq, Al Majaz Waterfront, Khalid Lagoon, The Flag Island, Al Noor Island, Al Noor Mosque, can be seen from the Oka.

The transportation process began on March 10th.

The Director General of the Emirate’s Investment and Development Office, Marwan Bin Jasem Al-Sarkal, said: “We are extremely grateful to His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi, a member of the High Council and ruler of Sharjah, for his support and confidence in this project.”

Moving the “Eye of the Emirates” is in line with the Office’s strategy to develop tourism and recreational destinations, and also provides residents and visitors the opportunity to enjoy the sights of Sharjah.
