UAE will change labor legislation

In the United Arab Emirates, the provisions of labor law will be changed in favor of the country's citizens.

UAE labor law will be amended, said Nasser Bin Thani Al Hameli, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratization.

The Minister emphasized that the goal of this initiative is to achieve the goals of the national employment strategy, especially with regard to the regulation of the hiring of citizens of the country. According to plans, the emirates should make up five percent of the workforce in the private sector.

Al Hameli said that 2,000 private companies will now have to give priority to the emirates when recruiting staff.

In 2017, the Ministry was able to provide employment for 6862 citizens in the private sector, which is 22 percent more than in 2016.
