UAE prenuptial contracts are now registered with tablets

To register a marriage contract in Abu Dhabi, you no longer need to attend courts.

The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) has announced a dedicated iPad app. With it, department employees can register prenuptial contracts. This means that now it is not necessary to attend the courts of Abu Dhabi in order for the document to become valid.

A smart service records all the documents necessary for a marriage contract, and then ensures the issuance of the contract through a device connected to the electronic system of the judicial department.

According to data published by ADJD, in Abu Dhabi, 4.1 thousand marriage contracts were registered from January to September this year. Of these, 1,743 were registered at the headquarters of the judicial department, and the rest - at other offices throughout the emirate. ADJD employs 40 people authorized to register marriage contracts.
