Abu Dhabi expects increase in tourist flow due to football fans

The 2018 FIFA Club World Cup will attract more than 30 thousand fans in Abu Dhabi.

Dubai, UAE. The 2018 FIFA Club World Cup 2018, which will be held in Abu Dhabi in December, will attract over 30 thousand fans of this sport to the capital, which will positively affect the development of the tourism industry as a whole. This was reported in the organizing committee of the competition.

In particular, the organizers expect that the fans will fully recoup their costs for the competition. Local hotels and restaurants are also counting on significant benefits from the tournament, ready to welcome football fans with joy.

It is worth noting that the main expenses fell on the "shoulders" of Abu Dhabi government departments - from airport ground services to the police. A total of 58 matches will be held, each of which will employ about 800 volunteers. Thus, the total number of volunteers will reach 10 thousand people.

In December 2018, the Asian Football Cup will also be held, which will attract about 1 million tourists. The emirate’s authorities will also fight for the games with the participation of Spanish teams, which traditionally attract tens of thousands of fans.
