UAE residents have one day left to fulfill the new requirement of the Central Bank

Residents of the United Arab Emirates who do not submit their documents to banks today risk being left without access to their cards.

February 28, 2019 is the last day the new requirements of the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates are fulfilled, according to which residents are required to update banking information about Emirates ID.

For those who do not confirm personal information, access to banking services will be limited.

The UAE Central Bank’s decision to update Emirates ID data for all customers of resident banks of the country is aimed at introducing best practices in the KYC (Know Your Customer) procedure in the financial sector and will help banks standardize and update customer data.

Data can be updated in several ways, including by sending a copy of your identity card to the bank using an ATM or mobile application.

It can take up to 10 days to process data using Internet banking, while changes are made almost instantly through an ATM.
