Dubai, UAE. Residents of Dubai's sleeping areas, including The Gardens, Discovery Gardens and Al Furjan, are gearing up for the opening of nearby metro stations.

According to the Dubai Committee on Roads and Transport, the construction of a new metro line called Route 2020 (Route 2020) is 70% complete. In particular, 11.8 km of tracks from 15 km planned were built.

Future metro stations - Expo, Al Furjan and Nakheel Harbor and Tower - are also more than half ready. So, the Expo station was built taking into account plans to serve 522 thousand passengers per day, or 29 thousand passengers per hour - in each direction.

All construction work on the branch will be completed in May of this year, and testing of trains will begin in February 2020. As previously reported, with the introduction of a new branch, the travel time from the Dubai Marina area to the EXPO 2020 exhibition campus will be reduced to 16 minutes.
