New women's beaches will appear in Abu Dhabi

Two new women's beaches will be open in Abu Dhabi before the end of this year. They will be the long-awaited replacement for the beach of Ras Al-Akdar, which was closed more than five years ago.

Nahla Fahad Al Maheiri, head of the municipality's beach and event supervision department, said the department regularly received many calls from women demanding to open a private beach for them. “Today, the main work has been completed, but the opening date has not yet been determined,” Al Muheiri explained. New beaches will be open to women of all nationalities - in the Al Batin area and behind the Abu Dhabi Officers Club. They will become part of the project to expand the Corniche city promenade. Access to the beaches will be free, but it will be limited after 6 pm.
